  • (military) a training march where the participants must determine their route themselves (by means of maps, compasses, etc.), usually through mixed terrain, with a rifle, tactical gear, and full rucksack, and with the obligation to support and carry exhausted or injured comrades (thus combined with a Geländemarsch (Geländemarsch) and a Gefechtsmarsch (Gefechtsmarsch)).
